About Ledger & Wire
This is an independent digital publication covering money, markets and the digital asset economy for a United States audience. We publish daily reporting and long-form guides for investors, professionals and readers who want to understand what a Fed decision, a new IRS limit or a stablecoin rule actually does to their own balance sheet.
Our mission
To report on money with the rigor of a newsroom and the clarity of a good explainer. Complex subjects deserve plain language, named sources and an honest accounting of what we know and what remains uncertain. When a number is an estimate, we say so and show how it was derived.
What we cover
Six core sections - Cryptocurrency, Personal Finance, Investing & Stocks, Insurance, Business & Economy, and Technology & Fintech - were chosen because they touch the decisions readers face every week, from a household budget to a rollover to a claim denial. Coverage is US-first: federal rules, US tax treatment, US products and posted US rates.
How we research a story
Reporting starts with primary documents: Federal Reserve statements, IRS bulletins, SEC and CFPB filings, Treasury auction results, state insurance department rate filings and company disclosures. Rates and yields are checked against provider pages on the day of publication, and every article carries the full source URLs so you can open them and verify the claim yourself. Guides are re-checked when the underlying rule or rate changes, and the update date on the article reflects that review.
Editorial standards
All reporting is held to a public editorial policy: facts are sourced, opinions are labeled, and corrections are issued openly with a note on the article. We do not accept payment for coverage or for a favorable review. Sponsored material, when it appears, is clearly marked as such and is written separately from the newsroom.
How we make money
The site is supported by display advertising served through Google AdSense and, at times, affiliate links to financial products. Advertisers have no input into what we cover or how we rate a product, and no editorial decision is made on the basis of advertising revenue. Nothing here is personalized financial, legal or tax advice; consult a licensed professional before acting on any strategy described on this site.
